How We Put Content Together

Anja Merret is a small, independently run site, and I take that responsibility seriously. My name is Tara Willis, and I oversee everything that gets published here, from the first draft to the final proofread. These guidelines explain how I approach research, writing, and corrections so that readers know what to expect.

Research First

Before any article goes live, I spend time gathering information from multiple sources rather than relying on a single reference. Where a topic involves specific claims, I try to cross-check them against more than one credible origin. If something cannot be verified to a standard I’m comfortable with, I either leave it out or clearly flag it as uncertain rather than presenting it as settled fact.

Writing With Care

I aim for clarity over cleverness. Articles are written to be genuinely useful and easy to follow, not padded out to hit a word count. I avoid jargon where possible, and when technical terms are necessary, I try to explain them in plain language. My goal is always to leave a reader better informed than when they arrived.

Corrections and Updates

Nobody gets everything right every time, and I’d rather fix a mistake quickly and openly than pretend it didn’t happen. When an error is identified, whether by a reader, a source, or my own later review, I update the relevant page and note that a correction has been made where it meaningfully changes the content. Older articles are periodically revisited to make sure they still hold up; if something has become outdated, it gets refreshed or retired.

Independence and Honesty

This site is not influenced by outside parties when it comes to what gets covered or how. I write what I think is genuinely worth sharing, not what benefits a particular interest. If a piece ever includes a sponsored element or affiliate link, it will be clearly marked as such so readers always know what they’re looking at.
