The Taliban who were intitially supported by the US, became tyrants, causing oppression. Having heard the opinion of a senior Pakistani officer, confirms how Afghanistan is and was in turmoil. How to end the ordeal for the Afghanis is not an easy question to answer. During WWII, many innocents suffered greatly - and unnecessarily while the injustices were being fought. What have we, as people of the world, learnt over the centuries that we repeat the same mistakes? This is a complex issue.
